- Improved the security posture of LLNL’s supercomputing facility by deploying a host-based intrusion detection system, OSSEC, to several service-based systems
- Developed custom, real-time alerts that email the security team upon finding potential security risks
- Collaborated with a technical team to identify, resolve, and mitigate vulnerabilities on several service-based systems
- Developed custom queries and dashboards in Splunk to parse OSSEC logs and provide visibility into the security status of several systems
- Participated in the Cyber Defender Course: International Efforts to Control Cyber Space
- Conducted research on Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) and developed a program in Python that filters out SNMP packets
- Completed numerous cyber security challenges and penetration testing activities
- Team Captain for Cyber Defender’s Capture the Flag completion
- Participated in Cyber Defender Courses: Network Security, and Computer Forensics
